Miv is passionate about old french linens and brocades ,suzanis and kantha work. From her years in film and costume design she has learnt to identify the quality and movement in the flow of fabrics ,and
the texture and weaves that create a depth and tactile pleasure once applied to a piece of furniture or a window treatment. Our bespoke curtain and soft furnishing service will supply the excellent and practical
skills to achieve the very best quality in curtains and blinds. We will advise you on the most appropriate headings and fabric weights, and supply tracks and curtain poles from a vast range of beautiful designs.
We use Francesca's paints, simply because we have found her paints to be of excellent quality and they come in numerous beautiful colours. Miv has worked over a period of ten years, with
Francesca, creating three colour ranges, The first collaboration in this area was a range for the Marquess of Cholmondeley at Houghton Hall in Norfolk. Here Miv worked with scraps of
faded William Kent velvets, found in the attics of the Hall while working on a project to establish the Houghton shop. These faded and glorious, little scraps were miraculously turned into the earthy
colour range that is today The Houghton Hall collection.
Following this Miv designed the Solace collection around the varying colours of the Norfolk coast, and The Tin Shed collection which was born from the vibrant colours of her Australian garden in Byron Bay NSW.
She is currently working on The Cevennes collection, inspired by walks in the Mediterranean landscape of her french home. Francesca is an alchemist of colour. Her eye is unfailing and her paints give the
very essential and authentic ingredients that create the perfect palette for a Miv Watts room.
